The Media Library contains the university libraries’ non printed, audiovisual collections. The mission of the IRC Media Library is to support the instructional and research needs of UTP faculty, staff, and students by collecting, maintaining, and providing access to media materials that represent all academic disciplines.
Established in 1997, the Media Library collection contains materials covering all the academic subjects with the collections numbers over 900 DVDs, 3400 videotapes, 2000 CD-ROMs, 180 reels of microfiches, 100 cassettes and 40 maps.
The IRC Media Library collection is stored in closed stacks, and is not browse able. Please refer to “Search the Catalog” to explore the collection.
The IRC Media Library maintains a collection of over 6,000 titles, including feature films, documentaries, animated films, and instructional programs.
Formats include DVDs, ½” and ¾” videotapes, 16 mm films, CD-ROMS, audio cassettes, audio CDs, and laserdiscs.
The majority of the videocassettes and DVDs in the collection is stored in the library and is available for checkout on a walk-in basis. The majority of the 16mm film collection is stored in a remote facility. These items can be retrieved for patrons who wish to use them within 4 business days of the request.
